On January 8, 1935, Elvis Presley was born in the small town of Tupelo, Mississippi in the United States. Baby Elvis was born into a low-income family of Gladys and Vernon Presley. From childhood, the mother instilled in her son a love of music and religion, so attending church and singing in the church choir was compulsory in the Presley family. On the eleventh birthday, instead of the desired bike, parents give their son a guitar, with which love for music is born.

"The King of Rock and Roll" (or simply the King) - this is the nickname Elvis got in the USA thanks to the popularization of rock and roll. Presley is considered the discoverer of the symbiosis of blues and country, which is called rockabilly. Adding pop and gospel notes to the new rockabilly, Elvis gains worldwide popularity. In the wake of popularity, Elvis decides to try himself in acting, and in 1956 the first film with Elvis Presley was released - Love me dearly. From 1958 to 1960, Elvis served in the US Armed Forces, receiving the rank of sergeant. After some time, due to the fact that the main employment of Elvis was concentrated in Hollywood, he moved to Los Angeles. Continuing to record music, Elvis and his manager Tom Parket decide to focus on cinema. In general, the King's film career includes 31 feature films. In 1968, with the support of NBC, a television concert called "Elvis" was released, which was called a return to the stage. In 1969, at American Studios in Memphis, in just 6 days, Presley recorded 32 compositions reminiscent of Elvis's early works. In July 1969, Elvis holds the first engagement at the International Hotel, the brightness and saturation of which simply blows up Las Vegas, and the number of viewers who attended the show breaks all records. As a result of the furore, Elvis signs a long-term contract for seasonal engagements. In 1973, another significant event in Presley's life takes place: his second television concert "Aloha from Hawaii" becomes the first show to be broadcast in 38 countries, and all the proceeds from ticket sales, were donated to a cancer charity.

Since 1970, the body of the King of Rock 'n' Roll increasingly begins to fail - the constant use of antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, diet pills and other medications caused stomach problems, to which glaucoma of the eye was later added. However, Elvis does not change his usual way of life - endless night performances in Vegas, recordings at the studio, touring, filming, which is why he ends up in a hospital bed several times. On August 16, 1977, once again trying to sleep, Elvis took a double dose of a sedative, which turned out to be critical - the King's lifeless body on the bathroom floor was found by his bride Ginger Alden.

Despite the premature departure of the King of Rock and Roll, his music continues to be published, and films with Elvis Presley do not lose popularity. His Graceland estate is still visited by about 600 thousand people a year. A huge number of Elvis lookalikes have become a common sight, and things that the Great Presley touched at least once are sold at auctions for fabulous sums.
