Born June 1, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida, he is an American singer, the only pop singer of the 1950s to rival Elvis Presley in popularity in the United States. With a velvety voice and soft singing style, Pat Boone has topped the American pop charts more than once. Among his most famous hits are Ain't That a Shame (1955), I Almost Lost My Mind (1956), Don't Forbid Me (1957) and April Love (1957), each of which climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. For thirty years (starting in 1957), 17 Boone albums entered the Billboard 200.
