In 1957 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, piano class A.B. Goldenweiser, in 1962 - in the composition class of A.I. Khachaturian (previously studied in the class of S. Bogatyrev), in 1961 - postgraduate studies in piano (supervised by A.B. Goldenveiser).
