Mother - People's Artist of the USSR Mira Koltsova. Father - People's Artist of the RSFSR Boris Sankin. Stepfather - People's Artist of the Russian Federation, conductor L.K.Smirnov.
Graduated from the Central Secondary Special Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky in piano class with A.S. Sumbatyan and in composition class with A.D. Bykanov, and then the Moscow Conservatory in the class of the People's Artist of Russia, Professor V.V. Gornostaeva.
Member of the Union of Composers of Russia.
Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania (2013).
