The famous Colombian writer and journalist was born in the spring of 1927 in northern Colombia, in the town of Aracataca. Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born to a pharmacist and housewife, but was raised by his grandparents for most of his childhood. Young Marquez travels around Europe, working as a special correspondent, and at the same time writes not only his first stories, but also begins work on the fundamental and main work of his entire life - the novel A Hundred Years of Solitude, which brought him worldwide and undying fame. The ingenious novel put Marquez on a pedestal and revealed to the entire world community this talented wizard, who in his creations combines reality and magic into bizarre patterns. Already in 1982, the Colombian writer received one of the most prestigious awards - the Nobel Prize in Literature.
