Irene Karas was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia and is the daughter of Andre Karas, Artistic Director of the United Actors Theater Company. Irena's training includes: Circle in the Plaza in New York, Gastown Actors Studio in Vancouver, and Vancouver Film School. Irene recently shot a new episode of "Package of Services" set to air on City TV in the spring, and will be seen playing the role of Heather on a new episode of "Motive" on CTV this month. Irene is well known for her rendition of Renaud Sweeney in the musical comedy Anything Goes for Theater Under the Stars in Vancouver, British Columbia, in which she received the Ovation Award for Outstanding Female Lead. Irene also played the role of Pina Lunetti on stage in the hilarious comedy "Mambo Italiano" at the Firehall Arts Center in Vancouver. British Columbia and Western Canada Theater in Kamloops, British Columbia. Irene was nominated for the 2011 Ovation Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Miss Madeleine True in the La Chuisa version of The Wild Party. Irene was also nominated for the Jesse Richardson Award (2010) and the Ovation Award (2010) for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of "Mrs. Meers" in the musical comedy "Very Modern Millie." Irene also produces and acts in the web series "Acting Class" nominated for the Leo Award for Best Web Series (2011) and "Staff Room". Irene trains regularly in the exploration scene class with Andrew McIlroy and Ben Ratner in Vancouver.
