Born 19 October 1988 is a Spanish theater, film and television actress.
She graduated from the Christina Roth Acting School in Madrid, after which she completed an intensive course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and received a philology degree in English language and literature. In addition to her native Spanish, Irena is fluent in French and English.
Irena got her first role in 2003 in the film Dreaming of Argentina, which received good reviews from critics. Her other successful films include The Seventh Day in 2004, The Blind Sunflowers in 2008 and The Premonition of Love in 2013. On television, her most striking role was the role of Queen Juanna Y De Castilla in the historical series "Isabella", where Michelle Henner also starred. For her role in the 2015 film Autumn Without Berlin, Irena won the Goya Award for Best Actress. In 2016, she also got a role in the historical drama by Hugh Hudson "Altamira". Her colleagues on the set were Antonio Banderas, Clement Siboney, Rupert Everetti Nicholas Farrell.
