Estonian Soviet theater and film actor.
As a child, he took part in the performances of the Estonian theater "Dramastudio" (Tallinn), began his stage activity in 1941-1944.
Since 1944 - an actor of the theater named after V. V.Kingissep. In 1950 he graduated from the Tallinn Theater Institute. He started with the roles of young heroes (Maslennikov "Days and Nights" according to Simonov, etc.), and soon moved on to character roles. Has successfully played comedy and satirical roles. Has appeared on television and radio.
Honored Artist of the Estonian SSR (1962).
