In 1931-1935 and 1944-1949 he worked at the Estonia Theater, in 1935-1944 and since 1950 - at the Tallinn Drama Theater (V. Kingisepp Theater), since 1966 - an artist of the Youth Theater.
Has appeared on radio and television.
In cinema since 1955, played 37 roles.
Honored Artist of the Estonian SSR (1957).
