Estonian theater and film actor, director.
People's Artist of the Estonian SSR (1964) .
In 1941 he graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Tallinn.
Director and actor of the Vanemuine Theater in Tartu (1944-1946), the Tallinn Drama Theater (1946-1948), the chief director and director of the Endla Theater in Parnu (1948-1952), the chief director of the V. Kingisepp Estonian Drama Theater ( 1952-1970), the Estonian SSR Philharmonic (1970-1974) in Tallinn.
Since 1974 he has been a director and actor at the Rakvere Theater.
He taught at the Tallinn Conservatory (1955-1960), at the E. Wilde Pedagogical Institute (1967-1970).
1953-1969 - Chairman of the Estonian Theater Society.
