Born on April 5, 1900. Studied at the A. Morozov Theater Studio, in the FEKS workshop under the guidance of G. Kozintsev and L. Trauberg (graduated in 1925). In 1933-1936. took a course in acting school at "Lenfilm" under the direction of Boris Zon. She worked at the Leningrad New Theater. In cinema - since 1924.Since 1941 - actress TsOKS in Alma-Ata. She died there on October 15, 1943 from typhus.
Sophia Magarill is the first wife of the famous director Grigory Kozintsev (1905-1973).
