Yanina Boleslavovna Zheimo was born into a family of circus performers. Together with three older sisters, she toured with a big top in the Russian Empire, the number was called Zheimo-6. The death of her father forced her to choose Petrograd as a permanent place of residence, where Yanina at the age of fifteen decided to become a film actress and entered the School of the Eccentric Film Actor Factory.

The first film with Janina Zeimo was released in 1925. The debut of the actress in the eccentric comedy Mishka against Yudenich took place in the form of a boy. For example, Yanina was filmed only at night, so that the face of the thirty-six-year-old actress would look youthful. And the shoes on her miniature foot of size 31 had to be made specially. The material for the actors' costumes was collected by literally the entire film crew, after the blockade, and the tape was produced at the Lenfilm studio, there is little left in the city that corresponds to the palace chic.

Zeimo's last film - Two Friends (1954). Moving with her husband to Poland forever interrupted Ioannina's creative activity.
