Raised in the family of professional screenwriter and actor Phillip Heard-Wood and Sarah Heard-Wood.
Heard-Wood's acting career began in 2002. Then, for eight months, Rachel participated in the filming of this film on the Gold Coast (Australia). Her work in this film received critical acclaim and made her widely known. For this role, she was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Young Actor or Actress.
Rachel studied at Rodbrow College of Technology in Milford, Surrey from 2001 to 2006 in art, English literature, psychology and philosophy.
From 2006 to 2008, she attended the sixth grade of college in Godalming. She really wanted to become a marine biologist and devote her life to studying the dolphins she adores, but gave up the idea when she found that it would require an in-depth study of scientific disciplines. In 2008, she began studying linguistics at University College London, but finished only the first year, as she had to leave for Australia to shoot the film "Invasion: Battle for Paradise", based on the novel by John Marsden.
