On December 24, 1914, not far from Penza, in the village of Cherkasskoye, the famous theater and cinema artist Alexander Shirshov was born. His childhood was not easy, as his father was killed in the war, and all responsibility fell on the shoulders of his mother. At first, little Sasha studied at the village elementary school, and then finished the seven-year school. While still in school, he did not miss classes at the rural drama theater. Shirshov really liked this occupation, therefore, after graduating from school, he decided to become an artist. Having successfully passed the entrance exams, he was enrolled in the State Theater Complex for the drama department. He began his creative activity in the drama workshop of A. Diky. Later he worked at the Moscow TRAM, and in 1937 he moved to Dushanbe, where he became an actor in the drama theater named after I. Mayakovsky. It was here that he played the role of Peter in the play Gardens Blossom, Kolesnikova - Invasion and others. In 1944, Shirshov returned to Leningrad, to the comedy theater, and from 1946 until the end of his creative career, he was an actor of the theater on Malaya Bronnaya in Moscow. His list includes the main roles in the performances The Marriage of Belugin, Strong in Spirit and others.
Most of his roles are very characteristic and memorable. The last film with Alexander Shirshov, Kolya Loving You, was filmed in 1987, where the actor played the role of Ivan Smirnov.
