Soviet cinema and theater actress Elena Tyapkina was born on May 10, 1900 in Moscow. She is the Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
Elena was lucky to be born in an intelligent family, and thanks to this she had the opportunity to get a good education. Elena has been interested in theater since childhood, although she did not plan to associate her career with this. After graduating from high school, followed to the Faculty of History and Philology. In 1919, the Rhythmic Institute opened in Moscow, which attracted Elena, and this was her next stop. She stayed there until 1924, when the institute was not closed. For several years she worked as a secretary-assistant of the out-of-school department of the People's Commissariat for Education, after which she revised her views and decided to go into acting. She continued her studies at the then popular Studio of Revolutionary Satire, later at the theater workshops. For 12 years she worked in the theaters of Meyerhold and the Revolution, in addition, she had experience in the Moscow Drama Theater, Maly Theater and Rostov Drama Theater.
The famous film with Elena Tyapkina - Kashtanka in 1926, the role of Nastasya was her debut in the cinema. Subsequent films are also well known to the Soviet, and not only to the viewer. These are such films as House on Trubnaya, The Light Path, Cheerful Guys, Reserve Player, Anna Karenina, War and Peace.
