Valery Malyshev starred in more than fifty films, showing himself in various roles - he played heroes and cowards, serious personalities and funny people. Most of his roles fell on the 1960-1970s. In 1992 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist.

The future actor was born in a village near Moscow in the summer of 1940. Valery's father died in the war in 1944, and a year later his mother married a second time. From an early age, the boy went to the local cinema and watched films about famous historical figures with interest. At school, Malyshev attended an amateur group, then a theater studio operating at the House of Culture.

After leaving school, Valery tried to enter several theater institutes. In GITIS and the Moscow Art Theater he was not accepted because of an inappropriate type. In the Shchepkinsky school, he went through two rounds, in the Vakhtangov school - three. Finally, despite the long course, Malyshev managed to enter VGIK. For the first time, Valery starred in a movie while still a student - soon after admission he was offered the role of Pavel Kozyrev in the film Business Trip. His partners in the film were excellent actors - Svetlana Karpinskaya, Oleg Efremov, Gennady Frolov, Alexey Mironov. The next film with Valery Malyshev, released on the screens of the Soviet Union - People and Beasts. A year later, in 1963, he played the role of Genka in the melodrama Morning Trains.

After graduating from VGIK in 1964, Malyshev became a member of the Film Actor's Theater. Until 1996, he performed many roles in theatrical productions, some of which were the main ones. In addition, Valery continued to work actively in the cinema. He starred in the films A Friend's Heart, Moonlit Nights, It Was In Exploration, Seek and Find, No Way Back and many others. One of the greatest successes in his life, the actor later called the role of Yegor in the TV series-saga Shadows disappear at noon. The last film with Valery Malyshev was shot in 2005. Valery embodied the image of Patriarch Mikhail in the film Tsaritsa Olga, included in the trilogy Saga of the Ancient Bulgars. The actor died a year later. He is buried at the Moscow Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery.
