Valery Ivanovich Inkizhinov was born in the city of Irkutsk on March 25, 1895. In 1915 he graduated from high school and decided to continue his studies at the Polytechnic Institute in Petrograd, at the same time he attended classes at the Meyerhold studio. Valery Inkizhinov always amazed everyone with his flexibility and amazing plasticity. The actress Smirnova-Iskander even once compared him to a cat.
In 1920 Valery moved to the capital. There he performs at the Meyerhold Theater and visits the workshop of Lev Kuleshov. His debut in a big movie took place in 1925 - Kuleshov invited him to play a minor role in the film The Merry Canary. Immediately after that, Inkizhinov began to prepare for the filming of the film Bazaar of Lust, but for some unknown reason the tape was never finished. Since 1926 he has been directing, shooting three films: Comet, Reckoning and Thief. But, unfortunately, these creations have not survived to this day.
Films with Valery Inkizhinov in 1928 were replenished with the picture Descendant of Genghis Khan, the role in it brought the 33-year-old actor world fame. Having left for Paris, Valery announced in 1930 that he was not going to return to his homeland. After this news, even Stalin himself was upset, saying that the Soviet Union had lost a talented actor.
A new stage in Inkizhinov's career has begun in Europe. He was invited to appear in Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France. The roles of Valery Inkizhinov were very peculiar: due to his accent and unusual appearance, the actor most often played Koreans, Indians, and Japanese. While in exile, Valery played in 44 films. The most successful of them: the Frisian disaster, the Shanghai drama, the Volga on fire and the Doctor from Stalingrad.
The actor died in the capital of France on September 26, 1973.
