Russian director, screenwriter, actor and producer of Ukrainian origin Valery Todorovskiy is from Odessa, where he was born in May 1962. Valery is associated with cinema since childhood. His father was also a director and screenwriter.
Todorovsky Sr. often took his son to the set, making it a second home for the boy. Young Valery was lucky enough to observe all the intricacies of filmmaking from the inside. He enthusiastically studied how to create sets, arrange the right lighting and set up cameras before shooting. In an interview, Todorovsky admitted that the central role of his father in the whole process was a reason for his pride. At the age of ten, Valery left Odessa with his parents and moved to Moscow. Here he was educated.
