Ekaterina Savinova was born in December 1926 in a small village in the Altai Territory. After completing her studies at school, she moved to the capital, driven by the idea of ??becoming an actress, but failed the entrance exam at VGIK. Six months later, Savinova was lucky, and she entered the courses of Vasily Vanin, but after a while she was expelled, since Vanin was sure that she was only able to play in the theater.

She could not remain unemployed: upon completion of her studies at VGIK, she, and the only one from the stream, was invited to the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater, however, Savinova refuses, because she is convinced that cinema is her destiny. Life threw her in different directions: she was sometimes invited to the main roles, then she was refused, and, finally, after three years of such “runaways”, she entered the Theater-Studio of Film Actors, but there, for some unknown reason, she was not given serious roles.
The role of Frosya in the movie Come Tomorrow, which made her famous, became fateful for the artist. The plot of the film was written off from the life of the actress by her husband Yevgeny Tashkov. However, Frosya became one of the few "big" images that she will embody, because after this tape began a series of minor characters.
