Ivan Verkhovykh - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actor.
Born on March 9, 1957 - Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, theater director.
He studied at the Saratov Theater School, graduated in 1978 with a degree in acting (course of Y. P. Kiselev, Y. P. Osherov, E. A. Ross). In 1990 he graduated from the directing faculty of the Shchukin School by correspondence (course of I. Zakhava) .
Since graduating from the Saratov Theater School, he worked as an actor in the Saratov Youth Theater, worked there for 8 years. In 1988, Ivan Verkhovykh created the Theater Academy of Theater Arts in Saratov, became the theater director and its artistic director. Only five years after the creation of the ATX was it given official status.
Ivan Verkhovykh staged prose, which only a few Russian theaters dared to undertake (Daniil Kharms, Sergei Kozlov, Vladimir Kazakov), and those that theaters did not undertake at all (Evgeny Popov, Mikhail Kuzmin), plays that, due to their complexity, were staged extremely rarely ("Emigrants" by S. Mrozhek, "When five years have passed" by FG ??Lorka). The works of Ivan Verkhovykh have always been highly appreciated by the jury, critics and spectators at numerous festivals and competitions in which the theater headed by him took part. ATH had a strong reputation as one of the most interesting Russian theater groups, and has toured Russia and abroad several times. At the ATKh Theater, Ivan Verkhovykh staged works by Daniil Kharms, Sergei Kozlov, Vladimir Kazakov, and works that were almost never staged by other theaters due to their complexity: "Emigrants" by S. Mrozhek, "When Five Years Pass" by FG ??Lorka. Krzysztof Zanussi made a film about this theater. The theater under the direction of Ivan Verkhovykh toured extensively across Russia, went on tours abroad, and participated in theater festivals. In the early 2000s, the theater practically ceased to exist, as the Saratov authorities lost all interest in it and did not provide support. In 2003 Ivan Verkhovykh was accepted into the troupe of the Pyotr Fomenko Theater.
