Was born on December 17, 1960 in Ufa. In 1990 he graduated from the screenwriting department of VGIK (workshop of O. Agishev). Author and co-author of 40 documentary and feature film scripts, author and co-author of 40 books. He worked in publishing houses, magazines, newspapers, editor at the Mosfilm film studio, screenwriter on TV. Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia (since 1993).
