Matthew graduated from Newington College (1981-1993). He received his diploma from the Actors College of Theater and Television.
Matthew is one of the main characters in the series "Sea Patrol". Its protagonist is Petty Officer Chris Blike, Swain of the fictional Australian Air Force Patrol Squad. He played Constable Matthew "Matt" Graham in the Australian Police TV series Blue Heelers. Matthew first appeared on the show in episode twelve, but due to the show "axing" he was only able to play in episode twenty-one.
