Olivier Gourmet was born in the city of Namur in the south of Belgium on July 22, 1963. He started acting quite late: the first film with his participation was released in 1990 (the short film "Hostel Party"). In 1995, Gourmet starred in the full-length feature film Y a pas de lezard. In 1996, two films with his participation were published and became widely known at once: "Day Eight", where Gourmet played a small role, and "The Promise", for his role in which he was named best actor at the Namur Film Festival of French-language films.
In the 2000s, Olivier Gourmet starred in such films as The Child, My Son for Me, The Silence of Lorna, Once Upon a Time in Versailles.
