The foggy damp night from November 7 to 8, 1988 will be remembered for a long time by the domestic listener, being imprinted in the public consciousness as the date of the creation of the legendary musical group called Freestyle, or, to put it simply, Free Style. This name was not chosen by chance: firstly, perestroika was unfolding at full speed outside the window, and the very words of freedom evoked a positive attitude in people; secondly, the meaning was laid in the genre direction of the group, because Freestyle actually did not limit himself to the framework of one or another musical style - in their compositions one could find notes of rock, and folk, and incendiary disco and even a little jazz. The group's motto sounded simple: you can sing in different ways, the main thing is not to get bored.
Well, the decision has been made, which means that very little time will pass before Poltava will hear the first album of the band. It happened in February 1989 - that's when their debut album Get It comes out. The collection turned out to be great, the group instantly became popular, and its members reaped the fruits of success.
By the way, about the participants: the collective was not at all formed from unfamiliar people with consonant voices, as is often the case on the stage. All musicians have known each other for a long time, perhaps that is why their songs have so much soulfulness and coherence. Initially, listening and watching Freestyle could be represented by Sergei Kuznetsov (keyboards), Sergei Ganzhi (guitar) and Nina Kirso (vocals). Gradually, the composition of the team expanded - Mikhail Murmov, Vladimir Kovalev, Anatoly Kireev and Sergey Kuznetsov will also join Freestyle. The director and sound engineer was Anatoly Rozanov, and the songwriter was Sergei Kuznetsov.
Another remarkable event for the group was the joining of the vocalist Vadim Kazachenko, who performed the superhit It hurts me, it hurts. In 1991 he began a solo career, leaving the collective work. His place will be taken by an equally outstanding person - Sergei Dubrovin, whose voice was recorded one of the most popular Freestyle compositions - the song Ah, what a woman. But Sergei will also leave the group in 2001, Sergei Kuznetsov will become the vocalist.
Freestyle 2015 is a fabulously popular band with many famous hits, 21 CDs and a string of fans. Their songs are mesmerizing, enveloping them with beautiful romantic stories, immersing the listener in the world of love and sincerity.
