Born on July 15, 1905 in the village of Aleksandro-Shultin near Dnepropetrovsk.
Graduated from the drama studio named after V.V. Vorovsky (1922).
Since 1922 he has been an actor at the T.G. Shevchenko, since 1941 - at different studios of the country, since 1946 - an actor of the Film Actor's Studio Theater.
For many years Khvylya played the role of Santa Claus at the main New Year's holiday in the Kremlin.
People's Artist of the RSFSR (1963) .
He passed away on October 14, 1976 in Moscow. The actor was buried at the Kuntsevo cemetery.
