September 18, 1924, Odessa, USSR - September 11, 2003, Moscow, Russia - Soviet and Russian writer, journalist, screenwriter. Author of a number of books, scripts, short stories and essays. Until the end of his days he remained a real Odessa citizen, possessing a truly Odessa love of life and a sense of humor. He showed interest in professional literary work even in his school years. Attended literary studio.
At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he led an agitation brigade that spoke to the Red Army men who were going to the front. He worked as a correspondent for the Odessa newspaper. He volunteered for the front. He fought in the tank forces. He reached Berlin, took part in the Prague operation and was awarded the medal "For the Liberation of Prague" .
At the end of the Great Patriotic War, he studied at the Literary Institute. M. Gorky (1947-1952, seminar of drama), worked as a culture manager of the Moscow Radio Plant (1947-1951) .
He began to publish actively in the capital press in 1949. Collaborated with various central periodicals. In 1952-1953 he worked on a creative assignment in the Turkmen SSR. In the competition for the best play in 1957 participated the play by L. Arkadiev "Country story" .
In the fall of 1958, he was sent by the editorial board of the All-Union Radio to the Arctic. Collecting material about polar explorers, I visited the polar (arctic) drifting station "North Pole-6" (SP-6) (replaced by S. T. Serlapov) .
For many years he was a special correspondent for the Trud newspaper. In his publications, he often referred to the theme of the Great Patriotic War. In the 1960s he worked a lot for the stage, was the author of miniatures, which were performed by such popular artists of the spoken genre as Arkady Raikin, Lev Mirov, Mark Novitsky. He wrote scripts for festive performances: in the Grand Kremlin Palace (New Year's Kremlin tree in 1964), in the Column Hall, in the Central Palace of Pioneers, in the Variety Theater, in the ZIL Culture Palace. Lev Arkadiev devoted more than thirty years of his life to the Search Movement to establish the names and reburial of the remains of the missing warriors of the Great Patriotic War, starting to do this one of the first. In addition to participating in many search expeditions, he repeatedly conducted journalistic investigations to establish the names of unknown heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The history of these searches is reflected in his book "What were the names of the unknown ..." (Magadan. Book. Ed. 1973). Gruvemuvestart L.A. Arkadiev is the author of a number of television and radio plays, stories and essays, many of which are dedicated to his hometown - Odessa. He started working in cinematography in 1956. He worked in fiction, animation and documentary films. According to his scripts, several films for children were created: "The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors", "Akmal, the Dragon and the Princess", "Akmal's New Adventures" and others. Shortly before his death, L. Arkadiev wrote a script application describing the plotline of the documentary "They Fought for the Motherland ... in France", but he did not manage to complete the work on this film. The film-chronicle of the Second World War about the citizens of the USSR who fought against German fascism in France was filmed by director Igor Romanovsky at the Perspektiva studio and released in 2005, two years after the death of L. A. Arkadiev.
The ashes of L. A. Bukh (L. A. Arkadieva) were buried in the closed columbarium of the Vagankovsky cemetery.
