Vera Sotnikova was born into an ordinary modest Soviet family. And it happened on July 19, 1960. Parents did not have the slightest contact either with the theater, or, moreover, with television. Then there was an attempt to get into Moscow State University. The girl carefully prepared for the exams, even intensively studied the French language, as she planned to go to the philological faculty. But this time, too, the circumstances turned out to be against the future actress. Already in Moscow, she learns that the package of documents for admission is incomplete. She forgot some information. The application for admission was not accepted. Then Vera comes up with an idea that will decide her whole future life.
Sotnikova out of nothing to do is sent to audition at the Moscow Art Theater. And, lo and behold! - she is admitted to the entrance exams. Everything became clear when Vera found out that she had passed a tough competition and was enrolled in the lists of applicants.
Then everything went as well as possible. Immediately after graduating from the studio, she made her film debut. In 1983 Vera Sotnikova first starred in the film Recognize Guilty. But the actress will return to cinema later. Now, all her time is spent playing at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. Then - the difficult nineties. Jobs have to change, and Vera chooses places where conditions are better and pay more. In 1991, she entered the theater.
