Vera Nikolaevna Pashennaya, a famous Soviet theater and film actress, holder of a number of titles, including the Lenin and Stalin Prizes, People's Artist of the USSR, was born on September 19, 1887 in Moscow. Her parents were both highly successful and respected actors. His father was better known not as Nikolai Pashenny, but as Nikolai Roshchin-Insarov. Vera had a sister, Catherine. From 1904 to 1907 Pashennaya was a student at the Moscow Theater School. After graduation, Vera joined the cast of the Maly Theater. Very soon, the aspiring actress became the prima of the Young Theater, overshadowing the famous Maria Ermolova with her talent. The roles of Vera Pashennaya mainly portrayed simpletons, women from the people with a difficult fate. The actress conquered all theater lovers with her temperament, incredible charisma and, undoubtedly, a great acting performance. From 1914 she became one of the acting teachers at the Maly Theater. The main roles of Vera Pashennaya, including the image of Lyubov Yarovaya from the play of the same name by Trenev, Vassa from Gorky's play "Vassa Zheleznova", always seemed to merge with the actress herself, thanks to which each image seemed to come to life on stage. The actress died on October 28, 1962.
