Michel Cerro was born in January 1928 in France. From an early age, he participated in productions at the Lyceum, and even then he got mainly comic roles. After that, he was educated at the drama center in the capital, then passed the entrance exams to the Conservatory of Dramatic Art, but the commission refused him. He made his debut in the musical comedy film Ax, The Beautiful Bacchantes. Soon, new films with Michel Cerro were released: the detective thriller The Devil, the comedies Candide or optimism, Big Trouble, Chain Reaction, etc. Many of his roles became characteristic and almost made the actor narrow-profile - suitable only for comedic characters.
Having gained experience, Michel, towards the middle of 1970, becomes a truly professional actor. Fame was brought by a new film with Michel Cerro titled Cage for Freaks, in which he tried on the role of the transsexual Zaza. The film received great fame, and it was nominated for an Oscar, and Michel was nominated for a Cesar award.
At the end of 1970, he decides to change comedy dramas and starred in the following films: Malville, The Hatter's Haunting, Under preliminary investigation (for this film the actor received the Cesar award). It is likely that the pretext for such a change in type was an incomparable emotional wound that haunted Michel: he was betrothed to Caroline, a girl whom he first met back in 1940, later they had two daughters, and in 1977 the family suffered grief - his wife passed away.
Cerro did not stop acting even when he was already at a venerable age. His filmography includes over 160 roles. The actor received his last award in 1995, it was his third Cesar.
