Peter Ganzler was born in Wordingborg on September 28, 1958 in the family of Anton Christian Ganzler (born 1926) and Inge Luve (born 1923). He studied at the University of Copenhagen but later transferred to the Danish National School of Theater, from which he graduated in 1990. He has played in many theaters in Copenhagen but is best known for his film and television roles.
Ganzler is married to actress Xenia Lach-Nielsen (born 1971), with whom he has a daughter.
