Born June 30, 1966 in the small town of Invercargill on the South Island. His father, also Marton Csokas, is a Hungarian who emigrated to New Zealand after World War II and worked as a mechanical engineer. At home, he studied to be an opera singer and at the same time worked as an acrobat in the Hungarian circus. Marton's mother is of English, Irish and Danish descent and worked as a nurse. Csokas Jr. himself, in addition to New Zealand, has Hungarian citizenship.
Marton Csokas is single, from 2005 to 2009 he met with the French actress Eva Green, whom he met on the set of the film "Kingdom of Heaven"
