Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman was born on 21 February 1946 in the West District of London. For his school achievements, he received a grant to study at the elite school "Latimer". It was there that he first appeared on the stage. He was later educated at the School of Art and Design at the Royal College of Art. With the acquired skills, he got a job as a designer for the Notting Hill Herald newspaper and opened his own design studio in Soho.
Since the company was practically not profitable, Alan gave up design and became interested in acting. After auditioning, he is admitted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Already there, he becomes an honorary student, scholar and winner of prestigious awards.

To date, the actor has over 50 roles in film and television. Despite his undoubted success in Hollywood, he never left the stage, and still remains an ardent fan of the theater. In addition, he tried his hand at directing: the film in his production "The Winter Guest" won two prizes at the Venice Film Festival.
