Alan Wolf Arkin was born in 1934 to a family of Jews who moved to the United States from Russia and Germany. The father of the future actor, David I. Arkin, was an artist and writer. Even as a child, Alan Arkin became interested in music and theater, from the age of 10 he took acting lessons.
