1926 in the village of Severka, Altai Territory.
In 1943-1946 he studied at the Kharkov Military Aviation School of Navigators, then, until 1949, he was a navigator of bomber aviation, then - an air corps dispatcher.
In 1951-1956 - actor of the Vladimir Regional Drama Theater named after A.V. Lunacharsky.
In 1959 he graduated from the V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko at the Moscow Art Theater and became an actor of the Sovremennik Theater .
Since 1961 he moved to the Moscow Art Theater named after Gorky (since 1989 - named after A.P. Chekhov) .
People's Artist of the RSFSR (1986) .
He passed away on October 17, 2009 in Moscow. The actor was buried on October 20 at site N78 of Dolgoprudnensky (Southern) cemetery.
