Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969) .
In 1912-1919, he worked as an apprentice of a retoucher, a retoucher-photographer, a photojournalist, studied at a film college. In 1928-1938 he worked as a cameraman at the Lenfilm film studio, then at Soyuzdetfilm. Filmed feature films and documentaries.
