Born May 18, 1931 in New York City, USA. Martin's film career began as a commercial director and impresario for many famous actors such as Barbra Streisand, Alan Alda, Betty Midler, Michael Douglas and Woody Allen. Gaining experience and becoming quite famous in the circle of filmmakers, Martin took up the profession of a film producer. The first project in which Bregman tried himself in a new role was Sidney Lumet's film "Serpico" with Al Pacino in the title role. The film received excellent reviews from film critics and became a commercial success. Even more successful became another project of the novice producer - "Dog Noon", where the same Sidney Lumet and Al Pacino worked with him. Martin continued to work closely with Pacino, and, it should be noted, extremely fruitful. Their next creation was the cult picture "Scarface". The talented tandem was joined by director Brian De Palma and screenwriter Oliver Stone. The film did not become commercially successful, but won the title of legendary and acquired a wide circle of fans. This was followed by quite a tolerable picture with the same Pacino in the title role "Sea of ??Love" .
Also noteworthy is Martin's collaboration with Alan Alda, which was more than fruitful and brought a "harvest" of films such as "The Seasons", "New Life" and "Betsy's Wedding", in which Alan acted as a director and screenwriter.
According to Martin, in every project he likes to penetrate into every detail and every aspect. Everything goes through his hands: casting, script development and marketing and advertising. Martin Bregman's last major project was the gangster film Carlito's Way based on the novel by Edwin Trres. In it, the famous producer reunited with friends Brian De Palma and Al Pacino. The painting was warmly received by critics and received flattering reviews from the general public .
Martin is still actively involved in producing films, but none of them have achieved much success either with critics or with the general public.
