Alfredo James "Al" Pacino (born April 25, 1940) is an American film and theater actor, director of Italian descent. Most famous for his roles as gangsters - Michael Corleone in the trilogy "The Godfather" by Francis Ford Coppola and Tony Montana in the film by Brian De Palma "Scarface". His role as Frank Slade in Scent of a Woman earned the actor an Oscar for Best Actor, his first success after seven previous nominations.
