His family was somewhat unusual: his mother was a military man, and his father worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Father died while performing a service assignment when Andrei was still little. Subsequently, the Terentyev family (Andrei, his mother and older brother) moved to Smolensk.
In Smolensk, Andrei had a chance to study at secondary school No. 1. Once a teacher of literature and the Russian language invited the children to stage a small sketch based on the work of Gogol. In one evening, Andrei and a friend made costumes, learned words, in a word, prepared thoroughly. Everyone liked their scene, and the teacher advised the boys to go to the local theater studio "Dialogue" .
The artistic director of the Dialogue theater studio Viktor Zimin recalls: “Andrei came to our class - and I immediately noticed some kind of light in his eyes.
