Born August 24, 1976, Verkhnedneprovsk, USSR (Ukraine) - Ukrainian actor, theater director and poet.

From 1993 to 2009 he worked at the Theater of Russian Drama. Lesi Ukrainian in Kiev. The most famous production with his participation in this theater was the chamber performance "I Am Going Beyond the Land", directed by Olga Gavrilyuk, about the fate of the Ukrainian poet and dissident Vasily Stus. This was the first performance using the Ukrainian language in this theater. In this performance, Semisal played a major role, in addition, he was a co-author of the stage composition. Premiered in 2006, the performance received mixed reviews, both positive and negative. Former dissident Vasily Ovsienko called it "a theatrical caricature of Stus", due to the discrepancy between the image of Stus, shown in the play, the image of the real Stus, as well as incorrect display of order existed in Soviet prison institutions. At the same time, Ovsienko recognized a number of advantages of the performance from the point of view of theatrical art. Roman Semisal has recorded the audiobook "Malva Landa" by Yuri Vinnichuk.

Since April 2009 at the Young Theater, he has been playing in the play Stus Circle, which is a musical and literary performance by director Sergei Proskurni with the Telnyuk sisters. Before that, in 2008, the play was shown in Donetsk, Mariupol, Slavyansk, Horlivka and Lugansk.

In 2014, Roman Semisal became the director and performer of the main role in the play "Private Shevchenko" at the Young Theater, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko. In the same year, Roman Semisal was included in the list of “Faces of the Cultural Year” by the newspaper “Mirror of the Week”.
