November 5, 1911, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - July 6, 1998, Apple Valley, California - American actor, cowboy and singer. Started acting in films in 1935, got his first leading role in 1938 in the film Under Western Stars.
He was one of the most popular US actors in the late 1940s and 1950s, appearing in a total of approximately 90 films and over 100 television series, almost always playing the role of a noble cowboy. Having almost stopped acting in the early 1950s, from the early 1970s he became known again, but already as a singer, having recorded his first album in 1970, and the last in 1991. Rogers was a Freemason and was a member of Hollywood Masonic Lodge No. 355. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Los Angeles Valley, and belonged to the Shriners Paramason Charitable Order, Al Malaikah Temple. He is also known as the founder of a chain of restaurants named after him. He died in 1998.
