Born February 27, 1930 - American actress.
As a teenager, she won several beauty contests. In cinema since 1955. Three years later she won an Oscar for her role as a woman with multiple personality disorder in the drama Three Faces of Eve .
On January 29, 1958, Woodward married actor Paul Newman. She gave birth to three daughters and in many ways sacrificed her further film career to family happiness. Newman and Woodward have starred together in many films, such as "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge" (1990), for which she was nominated for the fourth Oscar. In addition, Newman directed four films starring Woodward.
Contrary to popular misconception, Joan Woodward does not own the very first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, opened in 1960. In fact, the first 1,550 stars were installed at the same time.
