David Faustino was born in Los Angeles to Hollywood film costume designer Roger Faustino and his wife Kay, and grew up in the Northridge area. David got into show business at the age of three months, appearing in the image of the daughter of the comedian actress Lily Tomlin in her TV show. Later he starred in commercials and performed episodic children's roles in various television series and films, including "Little House on the Prairie", "Family Ties", "Twilight Zone", "Star Chamber". David received his first regular television role in the 1985 television series I Had Three Wives, starring in five episodes. By the age of twenty, Faustino had over 150 appearances in films, television series and commercials. He received his acting education only in the mid-1990s, when, between filming, he studied at an acting school in New York. In the early 1990s, Faustino took up music, rapped with The Outlawed Posse and in 1992 released The Balistyx Album under the pseudonym D L'il. At the time, David was a prominent member of the young Hollywood star community, in 1991 he founded the Balistyx nightclub in West Hollywood, hosting hip-hop and funk parties.
On January 24, 2004, Faustino married actress Andrea Elmer. In May 2006, they separated, and officially filed for divorce in December 2007.
On November 14, 2015, Faustino and his bride Lindsay Bronson had a daughter, Ava Marie Faustino.
