Born July 2, 1947 - American actor, screenwriter, comedian, and producer. He graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School and then from the University of Maryland with a BA in history (1969) and then a BA in business (1970). After graduation, he was enlisted in the US Army Reserve for three years. Early in his career, David worked as a store clerk, limousine driver and television repairman to pay bills. He lived in Manhattan Plaza with Seinfeld partner Kenny Kramer. From 1980 to 1982, David was the screenwriter for the TV series Friday, and from 1984 to 1985, the screenwriter for the talk show Saturday Night Live. During his work on talk shows, he was only able to get a sketch for the show once. He later quit his job at the show. This story inspired him to create the second season of Seinfeld. David met the future Seinfeld stars early in his career, with Michael Richards (Kremer) on Friday and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) on Saturday Night Live. Larry David also starred in an episode of the series himself. In 1989, David, together with Jerry Seinfeld, began creating the pilot episode of The Chronicles of Seinfeld, which became the basis for the series of the same name. David occasionally appeared in episodes of the series and voiced Steibrenner, but he is not credited as an actor. David wrote the script for the seven seasons of Seinfeld and returned in 1998 to write the finale. But he continued to voice the Steibrenner character. The series' DVD sales brought David $ 55 million in revenue. He has also been nominated for an Emmy award 19 times.
On October 17, 1999, cable channel HBO set aside an hour of airtime for Larry David's new project, Curb Your Enthusiasm. The series itself started on October 15, 2000. A special feature of the series is that the actors receive only a brief overview of the scene they are acting out. Along with David, his friends Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and Cheryl Hines star in the series. Comedians Bob Einstein, Wanda Sykes, and Richard Lewis appear on the show regularly. Actors Ted Denson and Mary Steenburgen appeared in episodes as themselves.
