From childhood, Durbin was distinguished by a passion for music and a wonderful voice. At the age of fourteen, she signed a contract with the MGM film studio to shoot short films with Judy Garland. The first success came to her after filming the musical "Every Sunday". However, the studio management did not want to renew the contract with Dina Durbin and she moved to act in the Universal Pictures film studio. The very first film "Three lovely girls" again became successful for her. In 1938, she received the prestigious Academy Juvenile Award for the Oscar. In 1948, the management of the film studio terminated the contract with Dina Durbin, stating that she was too old to play the roles of young girls, and for more complex roles she was not too talented. At the same time, the studio's management forgot that it was the film “Three Lovely Girls” that saved the film studio from bankruptcy.
