January 14, 1901 - March 16, 1971 - American actress, singer, dancer, and producer. When she was still a child, her family moved to Los Angeles, where Daniels began her acting career at the age of four. Initially, she participated in various theatrical productions, and in 1910 her film career started. One of her first roles was Dorothy Gale in the film adaptation of L. Frank Baum's children's book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Since 1915, Daniels has been invited by Harold Lloyd to play supporting roles in his short comedy films. Her four-year collaboration with Lloyd has generated a lot of gossip about their possible romantic relationship, and in Hollywood they were nicknamed "boy" and "girl" .
In 1919, seeking to show her dramatic talent, Bebe Daniels left Harold Lloyd and accepted a contract from Cecil B. DeMille to film several of his dramatic films. In the 1920s, the actress had a contract with Paramount Pictures, where he starred in supporting roles in more than two dozen films. In the middle of the decade, Paramount canceled her contract, and Daniels moved to RKO, where she gained great popularity in 1929 after her role in the musical comedy Rio Rita. The following year, the actress was one of the main stars of the musical produced by RKO. By the end of 1930, the fashion for cinematic musicals had noticeably decreased, and the RKO studio decided not to renew the contract with her. In the early 1930s, the actress worked for the Warner Brothers Studios, where she appeared in a number of popular films, including The Maltese Falcon (1931), In 1935 Bibi Daniels left Hollywood and moved to London with her husband, actor Ben Lyon. There, the actress continued her acting career, but more in the theater and on the radio. In 1945, Daniels returned to Hollywood for a couple of years, where she produced the film The Incredible Joe. The actress spent the rest of her life with her husband, son Richard and daughter Barbara in London, where she died of a cerebral hemorrhage in March 1971. She was cremated and her ashes were buried in the chapel columbarium at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Her contributions to US cinematography are starred on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
