Born July 7, 1948, Chicago, Illinois, USA - American actress, producer, detective writer, forensic anthropologist and scientist.
Rikes graduated in 1971 from American University with a BA in anthropology. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1972 with a master's degree in physical anthropology and received her Ph.D. in 1975. Since then, Rikes has taught at Northern Illinois University, the Universities of Pittsburgh, Concordia and McGill. In the past, Rikes has consulted for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina.
In 2007, Rikes testified before the International Tribunal for Rwanda. She has also assisted Dr. Clyde Snow and the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation in the exhumation of bodies in the Lake Atitlan and mountainous regions of Guatemala. In 2001, Katie Rikes identified the bodies of those killed in the rubble of the World Trade Center in New York.
In addition to her specialty texts, Rikes has written a total of 32 novels, which have been translated into 30 languages. In 2005, the Fox channel based on the novels released the TV series Bones.
