June 18, 1903 - January 14, 1965 - American actress and singer.
Janet is best known for her roles in musical films of the 1930s alongside Maurice Chevalier (Love Parade, One Hour With You, Love Me Today, The Merry Widow) and Nelson Eddie (The Obstinate Marietta, "Rose-Marie", "May Days", "Girl from the Golden West", "Lovers" and "New Moon"). During her film career from 1929 to 1949, she starred in 29 films, four of which were nominated for an Oscar, and also recorded three gold discs. Janet also performed a lot of opera concerts, worked for some time in the theater, on radio and television. From 1937 until her death she was married to actor Gene Raymond, they had no children from the marriage. Her older sister Blossom Rock was also an actress. In recent years, Janet has worked little due to heart problems. She died in 1965 from a heart attack.
