Born 1962 - Canadian-American film and television director. He is known as the director of the films Five Senses (1999) and Shards (2007). He has also directed such television series as The Client Is Always Dead, Body Parts, The Tudors, Close Friends and the HBO World War II miniseries The Pacific. He also wrote scripts for several films.
In 2014, he directed the fifth and sixth episodes of the fifth season of HBO's Game of Thrones, receiving an Emmy Award nomination for Best Directing in a Drama Series for the last episode.
