After graduation, Geraldine studied acting at the London Drama Center. She spent three years at the school repertoire theater. She is a highly respected West End theater actress, but is best known for her roles in motion pictures.
Geraldine was married to the famous actor Joe Blachley, who at one time played Hercule Poirot. They have a common daughter and their creative life is closely intertwined. Together they starred in the movie "Swing" .
In film, Geraldine James made her film debut in the drama series Play of the Day (1970-1984) as Miss Hunt. After many serial roles in 1980, Geraldine played Pamela in the film "Sweet William". By 2016, there were about a hundred films and TV series in the filmography of the actress.
