Born November 5, 1968, New York - American actor.
Graduated from Perchase College in 1990.
Gilliam's acting career begins in 1990 and continues to this day; he has played in Oscar-winning films, including Still Alice. He also appeared in the credits of Starship Troopers (1997) as Private Sugar Watkins and Courage in Combat (1996) as Sergeant Stephen Altameyer. Gilliam has had minor roles in television series, including the seventh season of The Cosby Show, in which he portrays Aaron Dexter, the boyfriend of Erica Alexander's character, and Teen Wolf, in which he appears as Dr. Alan Deaton. His most significant television appearance was in the cult series The Wire. In 2008, he garnered attention with critics that the show was beaten in Emmy nominations despite critical acclaim. Gilliam also has a large number of guest roles on TV shows, including CSI: Miami Crime Scene Investigation, Sister Jackie, "Skins", "In sight" and "The Good Wife." He also played the role of Clayton Hughes in Prison of Oz .
Gilliam also played in the theater. He played Edward V in the 1993 production of Richard III and the lead role in Othello by the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in 2010 and 2011 at the Houston Shakespeare Festival; directed by his wife, Lee K. Gardiner. He also played Mark Antony in the Houston Shakespeare Festival production of Antony and Cleopatra, which was also directed by his wife. Gilliam noted that he prefers to act on stage, but he also enjoys working in film or television. In May 2014, Gilliam landed the role of Priest Gabriel Stokes in the fifth season of AMC's The Walking Dead. Counting Chad Coleman and Lawrence Gilliard, Jr., he became the third Wiretap cast to join the show.
